Chatsworth Man Tells LAPD Desk Officer He Killed His Girlfriend
Police find strangled woman in Topanga Canyon Boulevard apartment.

A 58-year-old man walked into the Topanga Area Community Police Station Tuesday and allegedly told officers at the front desk he had killed his girlfriend in his Chatsworth apartment, police said.
Officers went to the apartment in the 9200 block of Topanga Canyon Boulevard and found Kristen Hyde, 62, dead.
Detectives believed she had been strangled and David Pearson was arrested on suspicion of killing her, police said. A motive is not known.

Pearson was held on $1 million bail.
According to the Los Angeles Times' Homicide Report database, at least 10 homicides have been reported in Chatsworth since January 2007.
