CSUN Announces Black History Month Programming
California State University, Northridge announced their Black History Month programming Monday, including speakers and group discussions.

NORTHRIDGE-CHATSWORTH, CA — The California State University, Northridge will host speakers, conversations and more throughout the month of February to celebrate Black History Month.
This year's Black History Month will be nationally themed "Black Health and Wellness."
The festivities will kick off with a virtual launch Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. hosted by the university's Black House, a student resource focused on supporting and enhancing the education of Black students through workshops, lectures, internship opportunities and more. Topics covered in discussions throughout the month will include Juneteenth, Black space on the internet, the state of hip hop and more. The programming will include lectures, group discussions, professional development opportunities and art exhibits.
“Black History Month is a moment of pause, a moment of reflection,” Cedric Hackett, director of CSUN’s DuBois-Hamer Institute for Academic Achievement, told CSUN Today. “Our selection of guest lectures, events and celebrations provides the campus community with thoughtful programming geared towards understanding the impact of Black contribution in the local context, as well as the global climate.”
