CSUN Returns To In-Person Instruction After 3 Week Delay
California State University, Northridge returned to in-person classes Monday after a three-week delay.

NORTHRIDGE-CHATSWORTH, CA — The California State University, Northridge resumed in-person classes Monday after a three week delay.
In-person spring classes were initially scheduled to start on Jan. 24 after a partially online fall semester. The university delayed classes by three weeks amid the recent omicron-fueled spike in COVID-19 across the country, according to CSUN President Erika D. Beck.
Monday's return to in-person classes was a special occasion, the university wrote in a news release.

"What’s usually routine by this time in the semester had that 'first day of school' excitement as students returned to campus after nearly two years of mostly virtual learning due to COVID-19," the university wrote in a news release.
The university had 44 on-campus student cases of COVID-19 as of Tuesday, up from 27 on Jan. 31. Staff cases went down from 11 to 7 over the same period.
