Earth Day Sale at ReStore April 16-19

The business is owned an operated by the nonprofit group Habitat for Humanity.

Habitat for Humanity, the non-profit that builds affordable housing for the needy, relies a lot on volunteer work to get things done.

But for those who don't have time to pick up a hammer, they can help the organization by shopping at one of their second hand stores, ReStore.

The Chatsworth location of ReStore at 9606 De Soto Ave. is having an Earth Day sale from April 16-19, with discounts like 50 percent off double ovens and 25 percent off dressers.

The Chatsworth ReStore opened last year and Ristine said she's glad more and more everyday people and celebrities are taking advantage of the business.

"It works all the way around," she said. "Instead of going to a landfill, it's coming here."

All of the store's proceeds benefit Habitat for Humanity, which is currently constructing 82 houses in Santa Clarita and 18 in Sylmar.

ReStore is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.
