Family Refuses To Give Up On Missing Valley Man
The family of a young man whose truck was found in Topanga is offering a $50K reward, adding, "Stay strong, Matthew, we will find you."
TOPANGA, CA — A $50,000 reward was offered Tuesday for information that helps find a 21-year-old man whose vehicle was found abandoned near Topanga on Aug. 11, the day after he was last seen.
The last known sighting of Matthew Jonathan Weaver Jr. was about 9:30 p.m. on Aug. 10 in the 2600 block of Stearns Street in Simi Valley. His vehicle was located the following day on the Topanga Tower Motorway, near Rosas Overlook above the Backbone Trail and Hondo Canyon areas, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Weaver had just moved to Granada Hills shortly before his disappearance.

At a news conference Tuesday morning, Weaver's family announced the reward and appealed for public help to find him.
"We love him (and) miss him so much," Matthew Weaver Sr. said of his son. "So please help us find out what happened to him. Stay strong, Matthew, we will find you."

Weaver is white, 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing about 140 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts was urged to call the LAPD's Missing Persons Unit at (213) 996-1800 or dial 911. Tipsters can also call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
