Brush Fire Breaks Out In Chatsworth For Second Day

Authorities continue to put out hot spots from Wednesday's fire on the state Route 118 in Chatsworth.

CHATSWORTH, CA — The Los Angeles Fire Department on Thursday responded to a report of fire on the state Route 118, Ronald Reagan Freeway, near Topanga Canyon Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Thursday's fire was first reported just before 8 a.m. LAFD began putting out hot spots left behind by a fire that broke out nearby on Wednesday, according to CHP.

The fire prompted a SigAlert on the state Route 118 at Topanga Canyon Boulevard until Thursday at 12 p.m. closing only one freeway lane, according to CHP.

There was some traffic Thursday morning on the Topanga Canyon Boulevard onramp and offramp to the state Route 118.
