Firefighters Find Dead Person Inside Burning Car In Northridge: Officials Say

NORTHRIDGE, CA — Firefighters found a dead person inside a car while putting out a blaze in Northridge on New Year's Day, fire officials say.

Firefighters made the grim discovery while extinguishing a car fire in the 9500 block of West Parthenia Street just before 7 a.m. Thursday, the Los Angeles Fire Department said.

A Los Angeles Fire Department arson investigator and Los Angeles police responded to the scene, per the department’s protocol, officials said.

Margaret Stewart with the Los Angeles Fire Department on Friday told Patch that no additional information about the incident was currently available.
