They were expecting about 120 guests, but the hors d'oeuvres were snapped up within minutes by the nearly 200 in attendance at the Porter Valley Country Club Tuesday evening.

The Porter Ranch Neighborhood Council was holding its annual holiday open house and party. The council's next meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Jan. 10, at Shepherd of the Hills Church, 19700 Rinaldi St.

In Chatsworth, the Chatsworth Neighborhood Council meets at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Lawrence Middle School, 10100 Variel Ave. Click here for the agenda.
