Don't miss your chance to give blood in Northridge Tuesday amid a nationwide blood shortage.

NORTHRIDGE-CHATSWORTH, CA — The American Red Cross will host a blood drive on Tuesday in Northridge amid a nationwide blood shortage.

The drive will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the LAPD Devonshire PALS Center located at 8721 Wilbur Avenue in Northridge. To sign up for your appointment, visit this website and enter the sponsor code "LAPDDevonshire." The blood drive is cohosted by the Los Angeles Police Department, Devonshire community station.

The American Red Cross, which supplies about 40 percent of blood in the U.S., is experiencing its worst blood shortage in more than a decade, the organization said in a news release.

Blood supplies have been low for the last two years because of the pandemic, according to a Cedars-Sinai news release.
