LAPD Shoots And Kills 20-Year-Old, Searches For Additional Suspect
The shooting occurred near the Hansen Dam area, and police are looking for the driver of a black BMW.
PACOIMA, CA — Los Angeles police shot and killed a suspect who was allegedly armed in Pacoima Tuesday, and detectives continued to search for an additional suspect, who remained at large Wednesday.
The shooting involving the Los Angeles Police Department's Foothill Division Gang Enforcement Detail stemmed from a traffic stop just before 9 p.m. Tuesday near the Hansen Dam. Officers attempted to pull over a black BMW sedan near Carl Street and Carl Place, but a front passenger dashed on foot, running through a housing complex, according to the LAPD.
The suspect, a 20-year-old man, was shot by pursuing officers and taken into custody.

Officers attempted life-saving measures before the arrival of paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department, who took the suspect to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to the LAPD.
On Wednesday, the fatally wounded man was identified by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner as Alexander Larios, whose city of residence was not known.

The suspect's handgun was recovered at the scene and booked as evidence, police said.
The driver of the BMW drove away and was being sought. No officers or bystanders were injured during the shooting, police said.
