Meeting Equine Neighbors on Day of the Horse

The community got up close with the more than 80 equines at Stoney Point Ranch on Sunday during the 10th Annual Day of the Horse event.

Horses of all breeds and sizes were abound and attendees got a chance to pet them, but not ride them.

That was left to the pros and experienced riders, who showcased their skills in leaping and hurdling exhibitions.

There was also a mock western shootout, a blacksmith display and awards were given to the winners of a student poster contest.

The event was organized by the Chatsworth Neighborhood Council's Equestrian Committee.
