Northridge Hunk Is Finalist to Be Male Model on 'Price Is Right'

Northridge resident Erik Adkins is a Top 30 finalist competing in TV game show The Price Is Right’s first-ever nationwide male model search.

After hundreds of men auditioned during the show’s first nationwide search for a male model, 30 finalists now remain to compete for a spot on the iconic show. The competition will be chronicled in a five-episode web series, “The Price Is Right Male Model Search,” on Mondays beginning Oct. 27 on www.priceisright.com.

During the webisodes, the hopefuls go all-out to prove to the panel of expert judges that they have what it takes to be the winner, beyond their good looks and a winning six-pack. A sense of humor, charisma and the ability to think on their feet are also essential qualities the judges, including former Miss USA, actress, model and Miss Nevada USA executive producer Shanna Moakler will take into consideration.

On Monday, Dec. 1, the three finalists will appear on THE TALK, and online voting will begin. It will then be up to viewers to decide who will ultimately strut their stuff on stage beside host Drew Carey on the longest-running game show. The winner will be announced on the show Monday, Dec. 8. Their week-long gig begins Monday, Dec. 15.

Monday, Oct. 27 – Webisode 1

Nationwide Open Call in Los Angeles: Men from around the world come to Los Angeles to audition for the highly coveted spot on THE PRICE IS RIGHT. The hopefuls meet a panel of judges who will decide if they have what it takes to continue to the next stage of competition.

Monday, Nov. 3 – Webisode 2

Modeling Tutorial: THE PRICE IS RIGHT’s first-ever male model Rob Wilson returns to go one-on-one with the 30 finalists. He gives the guys a chance to learn the ropes before they show off their skills for the judging panel. 17 finalists are eliminated.

Monday, Nov. 10 – Webisode 3

THE INSIDER’s Challenge: The competition turns up the heat when Mike Richards asks THE INSIDER’s Keltie Knight to surprise the men with an intense interview session. Keltie will test their knowledge of THE PRICE IS RIGHT and their ability to charm her while under pressure. Six finalists are eliminated.

Monday, Nov. 17 – Webisode 4

Showcase Challenge: The male models must step up their game as veteran THE PRICE IS RIGHT model Rachel Reynolds joins them on the show’s set. She introduces the guys to the most exciting and complicated part of the show: the Showcase round. The guys learn that presenting and modeling a showcase is tougher than it a looks, while the judges must examine who best commands the stage in a nerve-wracking challenge. Two finalists are eliminated.

Monday, Nov. 24 – Webisode 5

Soap Scene Challenge: In the final webisode, without any advance preparation, the five remaining hopefuls must cold read a soap scene with some of CBS Daytime’s biggest stars. Two are eliminated and then it’s America’s turn to decide the winner.

Monday, Dec. 1 - Voting Begins

Online voting kicks off at www.priceisright.com when the three finalists appear on CBS’s THE TALK (2:00-3:00 PM, ET/1:00 PM, CT/PT). Voting closes on Friday, Dec. 5 at 5:00 PM, ET.

Monday, Dec. 8 - The Winner Is Announced

The winner is announced on CBS’s broadcast of THE PRICE IS RIGHT! (11-noon, ET; 10-11 a.m., PT).

Monday, Dec. 15

The winner begins his week-long appearance as THE PRICE IS RIGHT’s new male model.
