Police Seek Driver in Head-on Hit-and-Run

The female motorist that causes the accident flees the scene on foot and authorities are hoping a witness could identify her.

Detectives are seeking witnesses to a two-car hit-and-run collision April 13 at Chatsworth Street near Canoga Avenue that left one driver seriously injured.

Around 1:45 a.m., the driver of a white 2008 Subaru Impreza crossed over lanes into oncoming cars and struck a white Toyota Camry head on, said Det. Stephanie Krajchir of LAPD's Valley Traffic Division.

Immediately after the impact, the driver of the Subaru, a female in her mid-20s, got out of the vehicle and fled the scene on foot, the detective said.

The Camry's driver was seriously injured and is lucky to be alive, Krajchir said.

She added that the Subaru's driver was not the owner of the vehicle and that it wasn't stolen.

The car is in police custody and its license plate number is 6HOJ745.
