Spot Fires, Flames Continue Following Chatsworth Brush Fire

CHATSWORTH, CA — Hot spots and active flames continue to burn at the site of Sunday's brush fire in Chatsworth but the fire has not grown, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The fire was held to just over four acres about an hour after firefighters first responded, authorities said. The perimeter on the fire has not changed, but firefighters have put out spot fires throughout Tuesday night and Monday.

LAFD continues to monitor the area to ensure the fire does not grow. There are no reported injuries, according to LAFD.

The fire was reported at 3:28 p.m. Sunday near 11200 Porter Ranch Drive, south of the Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey.

Firefighters stopped the forward progress of the blaze by 4:30 p.m., Humphrey said.
