Toddler Airlifted to Hospital After Falling into Unfenced Pool
Child may have been under water for a minute, but a paramedic got him breathing again.

Firefighters airlifted a 2-year-old near-drowning victim from Nordhoff Street and DeSoto Avenue to Children's Hospital Thursday morning.
The boy had fallen into an unfenced backyard pool behind a home on the 8700 block of Corbin Avenue, Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Rich Matheney told Chatsworth Patch.
The child was "stable and within normal limits," Matheney said.

The call came in at 8:26 a.m. On emergency frequencies, a firefighter could be heard reporting to dispatch headquarters that the child had been under water for about a minute, but a paramedic got him breathing again and stated that his vital signs were stable. The toddler could be heard crying in the background, according to City News Service.
The circumstances of the near-drowning were under investigation. The boy's mother was at the residence, and the child was out of the water when firefighters arrived, Matheney said.
