VIDEO: Mitchell Englander Becomes the New District 12 Councilman

Mitchell Englander was sworn-in by his daughters Saturday morning as the next Los Angeles city councilman from District 12.

The event, under a double tent at the PALS recreation center in Northridge, also served as a fundraiser for the facility named in honor of retiring Councilman Greig Smith.

The ceremony included presentations of both Korean and Mexican dances and was followed by a barbecue garden party. A band played old-time rock 'n roll and surfer music.
