Woman's Long Police Chase Ends In San Fernando Valley
The California Highway Patrol executed a rare freeway pit stop to put an end to the chase.

SYLMAR, CA — A woman who led law enforcement officers on a chase from South Orange County to Sylmar was arrested Tuesday evening.
The suspect was arrested after California Highway Patrol officers executed a PIT maneuver, a rarity on a freeway.
KCAL reported that the driver was initially wanted for failing to yield her vehicle, described as a red Toyota RAV 4.The pursuit began in South Orange County and continued onto the northbound Golden State (5) Freeway.

KCAL reported that officers unsuccessfully deployed a spike strip near South Gate. After another attempt at throwing the spike strip in San Fernando Valley, it appeared to damage multiple tires and slow down the vehicle to about 30 mph.
KCAL reported that officers appeared to have fired less-lethal rounds into the woman's vehicle as the pursuit turned into a freeway-closing standoff.

Officers took the woman into custody after she refused to comply with officers.
It was unclear what led up to the pursuit.
