Despite the average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rising to $4.023, we can easily find $3.87 gasoline in Chatsworth.

The county average is the largest daily increase since March 5. It rose 1.9 cents to $4.023, the highest price since Aug. 17, 2008 and 5 cents higher than a week ago, 31.9 cents above what it was one month ago and 92.3 cents greater than it was one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

However, the current average price is 60.3 cents less than the record high of $4.626 set on June 21, 2008.
