You'll Pay More for a Labor Day Getaway

"Gas prices don't usually spike over the Labor Day weekend, but this year could become the exception," according to Christopher Maag reporting for ABC News.
The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose today for the 16th consecutive day, increasing 3.2 cents to $3.936, the highest since June 16.
The average price is 16.9 cents higher than one week ago, 12 cents above what it was one month ago and 90.3 cents more than what it was at this time last year, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The increases are the result of refinery issues, according to Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
