7th Arrest Made In 2016 Novato Homicide: Marin Sheriff
The U.S. Marshalls Service assisted with the arrest Saturday in connection with the 2016 death of 17-year-old Edwin Josue Ramirez Guerra.

NOVATO, CA — A seventh suspect was arrested Saturday in connection with a 2016 Novato homicide case, the Marin County Sheriff's Office said.
Javier Guevara, 24, was arrested and booked into the Marin County Jail on suspicion of murder, attempted murder and aggravated mayhem, according to the sheriff's office. The arrest was accomplished by sheriff's office personnel with the assistance of the Marin County District Attorney's Office and the U.S. Marshalls Service.
The case began in May 2016 when sheriff's deputies responded to a report of a shooting at the end of Fairway Drive in Novato and found two victims, the sheriff's office said. One of the victims survived, while the other victim — 17-year-old Novato High School student Edwin Josue Ramirez Guerra — died from his injuries, according to the sheriff's office.

Guevara was identified during an investigation into the shooting, the sheriff's office said, and Guevara has ties to Novato. This is the seventh arrest in relation to the incident.
