Candidate Message from LJ Silverman: Look at NFD's Accomplishments

My name is LJ Silverman and I am currently the President of the Board of Directors for the Novato Fire District. I am a retired paramedic/firefighter and have lived in Novato for the last 35 years. I have been married 24 years, raised two daughters here, coached Bobby Sox teams, park and rec Basketball teams, and CYO basketball and volleyball teams.

I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Fire Science, California Teaching Credential, California Fire Officer Certification, and California Fire District Association (FDAC) Governance Academy Certification and maintain my California Paramedic license.

During my tenure we have become an International Accredited agency, received three (3) Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) awards, the prestigious California Special District Association (CSDA) Community Outreach Award, saved $31 million dollars of your tax money in reducing our Government Accounting Standard board (GASB #45) unfunded liability and have one of the highest cardiac patient survival rates in the nation.

I look forward to serving the citizens of Novato for another term.
