Novato's Waters Named Treasurer for Buckelew Programs Board

Dan Waters of Novato was recently named as treasurer of the board of directors for the Buckelew Programs, which serve adults and young people with mental health and substance use disorders in Marin, Sonoma and Napa.

Other new officers named were President Fabia Butler of Mill Valley, Vice President Marcia Antipa of Kentfield and  Secretary Judi McCord of San Rafael. Other Buckelew Programs board members include Joan Blum, Marion de Heer, Deborah McLeran, Stan Moore, Pamela Romoli, Dennis Ryan, Jack Scott and Dr. Walter Stone.

Butler is the vice president, advertising and communications manager at Novato-based . She joined the Buckelew Board of Directors in 2007. Fabia strongly believes in the bank's mission of giving back to the community and is passionate about supporting Buckelew Programs.

"I'm thrilled to be involved with two such well respected, community-minded organizations, Buckelew Programs and Bank of Marin,” Butler said. “As president of the Buckelew board, I hope to bring more of our services to those in our community with complex needs so they can lead healthy, productive lives."

Buckelew Programs is a nonprofit behavioral health organization that creates homes, jobs and hope for transition-aged youth, adults, and seniors with mental health and substance use disorders in Marin, Sonoma and Napa counties. In addition to clinical programs, it operates  three employment-creating social enterprises: People’s Harvest (Petaluma), Blue Skies Coffees & Teas (San Rafael and Napa locations) and Blue Skies Cleaning Service.  Established in 1970, Buckelew Programs had revenues of $10.2 million in the fiscal year ending June 30, 2011. There are 180 employees throughout the three counties.
