Commissioner Beverly Wood Appointed Judge

Wood is a longtime commissioner in Marin County, serving since 2005.

Gov. Jerry Brown has appointed Marin County Superior Court Commissioner Beverly Wood to a judgeship in the county court. Wood, 56, has been a commissioner since 2005.

She fills a vacancy created by the conversion of a court commissioner position to a judgeship in September.

She has worked in private practice with three law firms between 1983 and 2005. She earned a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of San Francisco School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Berkeley. Wood is registered as a decline to state voter and will earn $178,789 annually.
