Ex-Girlfriend Accuses Man of Punching Her
Suspect tracked down at Lee Gerner Park behind Downtown Novato shopping center.

A Novato man who listed his occupation as a wrestling coach was jailed this week following a domestic violence incident that left his former live-in girlfriend with multiple injuries, said.
The man and woman spent time at a local bar early Wednesday morning when the woman decided to go sleep in the man's car, according to a police report. When the man later got into his car, the two got into an argument and the man told her to get out of the car.
Minutes later, the woman called the man to ask for a ride; he picked her up, but the argument continued while they were driving in the San Marin neighborhood, Lt. Keith Heiden said. At that point, about 3:21 a.m., the man punched the woman in the face, head and torso several times and sent her out of the vehicle, police said.

At 11:57 a.m. Thursday morning, officers responded to when the woman reported that the man had approached her, Heiden said. The man couldn't be located, but he was spotted during an area check about a mile away at . He was contacted and arrested at 12:37 p.m.
Orlando Jefferson Jones, 44, faces a felony count of inflicting a corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant. His bail was set at $25,000.
