Father, 68, Hurt After Fistfight with Son

San Marin argument turns violent; son faces felony charges.

A 38-year-old man from Washington state was jailed Saturday after an altercation with his father in the San Marin neighborhood of Novato, said.

The father, 68, got into an argument with his son at a home on San Benito Way and it turned into a fistfight, Novato police Sgt. Jay Demski said. The older man was knocked unconscious and was taken to Kaiser hospital in Terra Linda for a head injury, according to the Novato Fire District.

The son left the house but was arrested at 9:55 p.m. Saturday when he returned.

Jeremy Robert Suttles of Oak Harbor, Wash., who listed his occupation as an airplane mechanic, faces two felony charges — battery with great bodily injury and cruelty to a dependent adult with great bodily injury. His bail was set at $50,000.
