NOVATO, CA — Interim San Marin High Principal Jennifer Larson has been appointed the school’s new principal.

Larson, a native Novato resident, also serves as the Novato Unified School District’s assistant superintendent.

NUSD Superintendent Jan La Torre-Derby and the district’s Board of Trustees jointly appointed Larson to her new role, which goes into effect July 1.

“My commitment to is to work with an equity lens providing success for every student,” Larson said in a statement.

“The focus of my work, both in the classroom and as an educational leader, has been to support student leadership, provide opportunities for student success, support the leadership capacity for our professional teachers, and work side by side with classified staff and the parent community on behalf of students.”

District officials said Larson has excelled in multiple roles, noting her “positive spirit,” and “commitment to student success.”

“The Trustees and I have every confidence in Jen’s leadership and ability to serve with the same enthusiasm and exceptional skill set that she has always demonstrated throughout her career,” La Torre-Derby said in a statement.
