Novato Hit-And-Run Suspect Arrested
The victim, a 19-year-old female, suffered moderate injuries and was transported to a local hospital, police said.
NOVATO, CA — A Marin man was arrested Monday in connection with a hit-and-run crash Sunday that left a woman hospitalized, Novato police said.
Robert Armond Lombardi, 74 of Novato, was arrested on suspicion of felony hit-and-run and additional drug possession charges after officers found Lombardi in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, police said.
Lombardi was booked at the Marin County Jail and his vehicle was taken as evidence, police said.

Lombardi was arrested at around 10 a.m. Monday after an alert officer patrolling South Palm Drive in the Hamilton area located the silver Lexus sedan with damage matching the suspect vehicle, police said.
The NPD’s Traffic Division responded to assist with the investigation.

The crash occurred just before 3 p.m. Sunday, police said.
Officers and Novato firefighters responding to Main Gate Road on the report of an injured woman lying on the sidewalk located the woman east of the parking lot entrance to the Hamilton Smart Train Station, police said.
Officers determined the woman had been walking when she was struck by the driver of a vehicle who fled the scene, police said.

Investigators obtained photos of the suspect vehicle, is described as a silver four-door sedan with damage to the passenger side mirror, from surveillance footage, police said.
The vehicle at the time of the collision (just before 3 p.m.) was traveling west on Main Gate Road toward Nave Drive, police said.
