Novato Police Investigate Cosmetics Store Theft By 5 Female Suspects

NOVATO, CA — Novato police are investigating a retail theft allegedly perpetrated by female suspects earlier this week.

Around 11:45 a.m. Wednesday, officers were alerted to a reported theft at the Sephora cosmetics store at the Vintage Oaks Shopping Center. Witnesses said four female suspects were reportedly running from the store and fled in a silver Nissan sedan.

Novato officers found the suspect vehicle traveling on southbound state Highway 101. But as they officers tried to stop the vehicle, its driver allegedly made multiple abrupt reckless movements and was able to evade them.

Police said the vehicle was last seen speeding away on southbound Highway 101.

According to police, several thousand dollars worth of merchandise had been stolen. Investigators also learned the license plate affixed to the vehicle was stolen.
