Novato Police Nab Four In Alcohol Sting

In an effort to prevent adults from fueling underage drinking, Novato police officers conducted a minor decoy shoulder tap operation Friday night, Novato police said.

During the operation, four men were cited for purchasing alcohol and providing it to minor decoys at three locations between 6 p.m. and 11 p.m., police said.

A total of 18 adults were contacted by police at four Novato locations.

The four suspects, including three Novato residents ages 52 and 34 and 27-year-old Suisun City resident François Herbert, were issued citations and released from the scene, police said.

Herbert was also charged with a probation violation, police said.

The suspects were caught in decoy operations at 7473 Redwood Blvd., 1535 S. Novato Blvd., and 800 Diablo Ave.
