Novato School Shooting Threat Deemed A Hoax: Cops
"After a thorough investigation, the incident was determined to not be a credible threat," police said.
NOVATO, CA — The threat of a shooting at a Novato school has been deemed without merit, police said in a statement Tuesday.
The Novato Police Department statement came in response to rumors that had been circulating at San Marin High School after a student’s comment to classmates about a school shooting, the agency said.
“After a thorough investigation, the incident was determined to not be a credible threat,” police said.

Police said its School Resource team works to build relationships with the campus community helps officers be “better connected to learn about threats before it's too late.”
“We're grateful for the proactive effort between the Novato Unified School District and our community.”
Novato Police has well-structured protocols for responding to incidents taking place at schools and is fully prepared to respond to any situation on campus. We will continue to work closely with Novato Unified School District to ensure safety at all NUSD facilities as threats of violence will not be tolerated.
