Novato Stands With Ukraine
The North Bay city issued a statement Wednesday announcing it will fly the Ukrainian flag at its Community House for 30 days.

NOVATO, CA — Novato is standing with Ukraine, the North Bay city announced Wednesday in a news release.
Marin's second largest city will fly the Ukrainian flag at the Community House at the corner of Grant and Machin Avenues, a move city officials said was a "symbol of solidarity."
"Novato stands in support of the Ukrainian people and those in our community with family and friends in the region," city officials said.

"We are profoundly troubled by the news and images from the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and we are horrified at the loss of life and displacement of Ukrainians."
As of Thursday, at least 3.1 million Ukrainians have fled the country since Vladimir Putin unleashed an unprovoked attack on the Eastern European nation, triggering one of the West's biggest humanitarian crises since World War II.
