• Marin agency shifts funding to protect overcrossing project (marinij.com) — State transportation funds are being shifted to jump-start a Novato utility relocation and road improvement project tied to Highway 101, including new bike lanes on San Antonio Road. While a Corte Madera overcrossing upgrade is delayed, officials say Novato can use the $1.16 million now to move utilities and secure nearly all of the project’s $9 million budget.
   

• Marin authorities, banks collaborate to protect seniors (marinij.com) — Novato seniors were among those recently scammed out of $24,000, prompting Marin authorities and local banks to pilot a new program to spot and stop fraud at the teller window. Focused first in San Rafael but intended to expand countywide, the effort trains bank staff to flag suspicious withdrawals and connect elders with police before they hand over cash to scammers.
