• Singular event: Novato twins in different troops make Eagle Scout (marinij.com) — Twin brothers from Novato have each earned the prestigious Eagle Scout rank through separate community projects that improved Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and Stafford Lake Disc Golf Course, both in Novato. The San Marin High School seniors will receive their badges at a public ceremony at the Buck Institute, celebrating a rare achievement for Marin’s scouting community and highlighting youth leadership close to home. 
• Sports Briefs: Crosswhite unwraps big game in Dominican win (marinij.com) — Local hoops fans will see several Novato-area teams jump into MCAL and league play this week, including Branson tuning up for its Jan. 9 opener against Novato High. Dominican’s women’s team stayed hot behind Isobel Crosswhite’s big birthday performance, while San Marin, Archie Williams, Redwood, Tam and others wrapped up non-league action and wrestling tournaments across the region.
