Police Identify Suspects In Fatal Shooting Of Santa Rosa Woman And Dog
The suspects were arrested and booked into the Sonoma County Main Jail on suspicion of murder, felony criminal conspiracy.
SONOMA COUNTY, CA — Two Sebastopol men are suspected in the death of a Santa Rosa woman who was found fatally shot on a staircase inside her home last week, police said Thursday.
Felix Carreon, 50, and Robert McConlogue, 46, were arrested Monday in connection with the death of 47-year-old Mollie Schefer on Sept. 9.
Police found Schefer dead about 4:30 a.m. with two gunshots to the chest on a staircase inside the two-story home in the 1400 block of Cecilia Drive. A dog had also been fatally shot at the home and a second dog was injured.

Officers found a back gate had been opened and a shattered rear sliding glass door at the house, Santa Rosa police said.
Detectives identified a 2003 gold Lexus RX believed to be associated to suspects in the death and they connected the vehicle to Carreon and McConlogue.

On Monday, they located Carreon driving a silver Honda Civic with McConlogue in the passenger seat.
About 4:20 p.m., with assistance from the Sonoma County sheriff's helicopter, authorities saw Carreon drop McConlogue off in the area of Stony Point and Occidental roads.
Police detained him nearby without incident.
Carreon then drove to Summercreek Drive, where he parked and began walking toward Yolanda Avenue. A small team of uniformed officers contacted Carreon as he walked through a parking lot and he was also detained, police said.
About 9:40 p.m., detectives served a search warrant at a home in the 300 block of Yolanda Avenue, believed to be associated with Carreon. Evidence that included clothing and electronic devices was collected.
About 9:50 p.m., detectives served a search warrant at the suspects' home in the 2600 block of Burnside Road in Sebastopol. Detectives seized clothing, electronic devices, and ammunition at the home. The gun used in the shooting hasn't been found.
