Road Closure For PG&E Undergrounding Project Will Continue Through March In Marin County

The main boulevard will continue to be closed during weekdays.

NOVATO, CA — A PG&E undergrounding project that has shut down the main boulevard in Novato is expected to continue through March 2026, city officials said.

From 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday through Friday, Novato Boulevard between 7th Street and Diablo Avenue will remain closed PG&E's utility undergrounding project.

This work is estimated to continue through March 2026.

The city advised locals to use alternate routes when possible and adjust commute times. Detours will be in place to help guide traffic such as Center Road or Grant Avenue. Access to homes and businesses will be maintained during closure hours.

All work is tentative and subject to change.

"PG&E's undergrounding work will enhance roadway safety and allow the City to widen Novato Blvd adding bike lanes, sidewalks and clean water drainage. We appreciate your patience and understanding," city officials said.
