Snake Found in Kitchen Cabinet

The following information from Sept. 27-30 was supplied by the Novato Police Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

The Headliner

12:46 a.m., Sept. 30 — A woman on Club Drive reported a long snake in her kitchen, partially sticking out of a cabinet. Officer responded and found the snake to be dead. Resident requested nothing further.

6:36 a.m. — A man said he was missing his cell phone and keys after falling asleep at a gas station's air/water station in the 2000 block of Novato Boulevard. He believes he fell asleep at about 12:30 a.m. He has located his keys.

7:26 a.m. — A 19-year-old man was found with a stab wound at an undisclosed location. He said he was jumped outside his residence. Investigation is ongoing.

8:49 a.m. — An 18-year-old woman walked into Novato Community Hospital with two self-inflicted stab wounds. She said she was upset over a breakup. She was treated and then transported to Marin General Hospital's psychiatric ward.

8:21 a.m. — Three marijuana plants were found on the sidewalk on the Lynwood School grounds. They were taken into custody for destruction.

9:40 a.m. — Coin-operated washers and dryers were burglarized with a prying tool on Romar Court.

11:25 a.m. — A woman on Andreas Circle who returned home after being out of town found that locks on her house were damaged, pry marks were near the doors and the hidden key was missing.

12:55 p.m. — A woman complained that someone is leaving things her stairs in the 100 block of Third Street. She was confusing a hornet nest above her outdoor light fixture as possible feces.

1:48 p.m. — A daughter is reported out of control by a mother on Cherry Street. Both parties counseled.

2:22 p.m. — A gold Lexus struck a Radio Shack vehicle in the 900 block of Diablo Avenue. Filed as a hit-and-run misdemeanor.

3 p.m. — A major-injury crash was reported near the junction of Novato Boulevard and Sutro Avenue. A child has a head injury in a vehicle vs. pedestrian incident. Click here for a complete story on this call.

3:35 p.m. — A welfare check was made at a residence on Hathaway Drive. Two young kids did not go to school. The mother suffers from back problems and had an appointment that day.

6:28 p.m.. — A father at an unknown address said his son is coming home from day care with bumps, scratches and bruises. Case taken for child abuse.

7:12 p.m. — A tow truck driver called from Green Oak Drive to report a person who started a physical altercation when the tow truck driver was towing a vehicle from a no-parking zone. The vehicle was five feet from the no-parking sign. Advice given.

Sept. 29

7:19 a.m. — Someone saw a truck hit a parked car in the 7600 block of Redwood Boulevard. The truck driver was contacted and was unaware of the contact.

10:43 a.m. — A cable line was reported hanging from a power pole onto the sidewalk on Olive Avenue. Power company was notified.

6:23 p.m. —  A resident of Randolph Drive said a person she does not know called her and threatened to beat and kill her. Their daughters attend the same school.

7:11 p.m. — A man reported the theft of his 2000 Ford Ranger from a movie theater parking lot on Rowland Way.

11:11 p.m. — A neighbor on Little Creek Lane reported hearing a woman screaming in a unit directly above her. The woman was screaming during a nightmare; no merit to any crime.

Sept. 30

12:50 a.m. — A parent reported that the girlfriend of reporting party's son scratched the son and is refusing to leave a residence on Cielo Lane. A domestic violence case was taken.

10:27 a.m. — A stereo system was reported stolen from a boat that has been parked at a business behind a locked gate on Frosty Lane. Estimated loss is $2,000.

10:43 a.m. — A vehicle was broken into in the Marriott parking lot on Hamilton Parkway. A number of items were missing.

10:59 a.m. — A mountain bike was stolen from a garage on Lotus Court. Estimated loss is $800-$900.

1:29 p.m. —About $800 in cash and a laptop were stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked on Rosewood Drive. Estimated loss is $2,300.

4:40 p.m. — Lottery tickets and an undisclosed amount of cash were stolen from an unlocked vehicle on Garden Court.

6:12 p.m. — A black Nissan Pathfinder was seen hitting another vehicle and leaving the scene on Logan Street. A witness provided a license plate number.

9:13 p.m. — Street lights were broken on Poppy Place and broken pieces were in the reporting party's front yard.

8:04 p.m. — A woman said her 13-year-old son battered her while she was driving. No visible injuries were incurred. The woman signed a citizen's arrest form.

9:40 p.m. — A landlord was threatened by a tenant on Hector Lane. Officer found there is a history of a landlord-tenant dispute. Advice was provided to both parties.

11:18 p.m. — A stolen vehicle was recovered near Entrada Drive and Poppy Place.
