Stress About First Day of College Leads to Welfare Check

3:59 p.m., Aug. 17 — A woman said her daughter was despondent when she drove off in a silver Mercedes-Benz. The daughter was contacted and said she was not going to hurt herself but that she was concerned about her first day of college. She said she was upset that her parents were listening to her.

Aug. 16

6:42 a.m. — A noninjury crash was reported between two sports cars at the intersection of Commercial Boulevard and Pamaron Way in Bel Marin Keys.

8:25 a.m. — A former tenant was accused of vandalizing a home and stealing a bedroom set in the 1600 block of Hill Road.

10:06 a.m. — A noninjury crash was reported at the intersection of Diablo Avenue and Redwood Boulevard.

11:26 a.m. — Video surveillance capture footage of a woman keying a car in the parking lot of the Marin Humane Society on Bel Marin Keys Boulevard. Damage estimate is $1,200.

1:34 p.m. — A male tenant in a dementia unit at an assisted living facility on Tamalpais Avenue was accused to striking a female patient. The woman, who is in her 80s, fell to the floor and has a hematoma near her eye.

2:09 p.m. — Two women wearing all black clothing were soliciting people for money inside the Target store at Vintage Oaks shopping center and were asked to leave but refused to do so. The women were contacted at a nearby business and said they were with a church group. They were advised not to return to Target.

3:25 p.m. — A maroon Honda Accord reported stolen from a home on Cinnamon Teal Lane was located by the CHP.

4:30 p.m. — An ex-friend was sending someone pornographic photos in the mail. A case was taken but it was deemed there was no crime committed.

5:01 p.m. — Two plates were missing from a Jeep Grand Cherokee in the 600 block of Cutlass Drive. The vehicle was reported stolen and a subject is in custody.

5:21 p.m. — A noninjury crash was reported at Fifth Street and Grant Avenue.

7:30 p.m. — Assistance was requested when someone locked keys in a van while it was running and a 2-year-old was inside in a car seat.

9:15 p.m. — A woman reported that she was assaulted at a residence on Yukon Way. The suspect left on foot but owns car.

10:25 p.m. — A woman went to a friends house after a vacation to retrieve her dog, but the person who watched the dog refused to turn it over, saying she didn't deserve the dog. Advice was given to both parties and no police action was taken.

10:26 p.m. — A man said his car was attacked by a stranger while stopped at a stop light at Diablo Avenue and Redwood Boulevard. The man said a Hispanic man about 25 years old jumped out of an SUV and hit his window. The suspect was not found.

Aug. 17

10:42 p.m. — An employee at a business in the 400 block of Redwood Boulevard reported that a female customer became angry and took a swing at the reporting party.

10:45 a.m. — A man said he was the victim of Internet fraud. He wired $1,000 to a person in Colorado for an eBay transaction for a home theater system that has yet to be received. A police department in Colorado was advised.

10:49 a.m. — Several vehicles in the 1100 block of Seventh Street were painted with white stripes by unknown vandals.

11:15 p.m. — People occupying four tents behind the Costco in the 300 block of Vintage Way were given trespassing notices.

11:34 a.m. — A man was cited for indecent exposure in the 200 block of Vintage Way.

12:40 p.m. — A possible fraud was reported from a business owner on Pimentel Court. A forged personal check was reported stolen and then was cashed at a San Rafael check cashing business.

12:45 p.m. — A woman on Hill Road told a reporting party that she was assaulted and sexually battered by a person who was "performing lab work" on her.

3:25 p.m. — Two people who accused each other of texting and posting negative Facebook messages were contacted and told to stop.

3:34 p.m. — About $1,400 in jewelry was missing from a residence on the 1000 block of Third Street when the home owner came back from running errands.

5:47 p.m. — One person was cited and released after a shoplifting incident in the 900 block of Diablo Avenue.

10:13 p.m. — A verbal argument took place between two neighbors who both accused each other of trying to start a fight. No one wanted to press charges.

11:48 p.m. — A woman accused her boyfriend of aggravated assault at a residents near the corner of Bolling Circle and Captain Nurse Circle. The woman said she was hit in the chest and face, but she declined medical assistance.
