Traffic Delays And Road Closures In Marin County Due To Car Events
Two separate car events on back-to-back days will cause a road downtown to shut down.
NOVATO, CA — The City of Novato is hosting a car cruise and a car show on Friday and Saturday that will cause road closures downtown, police said.
"Please use alternative routes when necessary. We request those who cannot avoid the area to allow plenty of time for travel. The community’s patience and understanding are greatly appreciated," the Novato Police Department stated.
On Friday there will be a car cruise from 5-8 p.m. on Grant Avenue between Virginia and Reichert avenues. Cruiser will stage at 5 p.m. in the Our Lady of Loretto Church parking lot at 1806 Novato Blvd.

There will be round 200 vehicles participating.
From 5:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday Grant Avenue between Redwood Boulevard and Seventh Street will be shut down for a car show.

The car show will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Event staff said they are expecting around 300 vehicles.
Barricades will be put in place by event staff and through traffic will be diverted starting at around 5:30 a.m. on Saturday to prepare for the event and they will remain in place until around 6 p.m.. Grant Avenue will open back up once the event is concluded.
