BestPlaces.net looked at how the cost of living compares in Oceanside to San Jose and the overall national average.

OCEANSIDE, CA — A new report from BestPlaces.net looked at how the cost of living compares in Oceanside, California to San Jose, California. The good news for Oceansider's indicates that the average cost is 33% less than San Jose.
The report states that a salary of $50,000 in San Jose could decrease to $30,808 in Oceanside (assumptions include Homeowner, no Child Care, and Taxes are not considered.)
Oceanside is shown with 46% lower housing costs than the northern California city. Not surprisingly, Housing costs are the highest expense for people living in Oceanside and well above the average in the U.S., by comparison, Health expenses for Oceanside are below the national average.

The news is not so cheery when compared to the national cost of living average score of 100, as the Oceanside average score is 148, but still far lower than the San Jose national comparison score of 214.5.
