📰 Here are the top stories in Orange County today:
- The Anaheim Police Department responded to the 1500 block of East Wright Circle after reports of an apartment robbery. Three suspects robbed the location and assaulted the resident. One of the robbers had a gun. (Patch)
- The California Highway Patrol chased a female driver in a red Toyota RAV 4 for “failing to yield to officers.” Reportedly, “police originally approached the stopped vehicle, which had Arizona plates, in Orange County, thinking it had been abandoned.” The chase headed to South Gate, where the suspect circumnavigated a spike strip, and entered the San Fernando Valley. An arrest took place near Sylmar. (CBS, NBC)
- Will Huntington Beach stop future development plans for Beach Boulevard? Opposed are the OC Business Council and the Huntington Beach Auto Dealers, which cited ill effects on business. On the other side, councilman Casey McKeon noted that the environmental impacts of development in the area must be reevaluated. Although councilmembers Dan Kalmick, Natalie Moser, and Rhonda Bolton disagreed, at times loudly, the city council voted “4-3 Tuesday night to study McKeon’s proposal.” (Voice of OC)
- Disneyland Park or California Adventure in Anaheim gets a little cheaper – for a limited time. Buy a three-day ticket for one of the parks for $249, which means it costs you $83 just to walk through the gate on each of these days. Of course, these tickets are only good Monday through Thursday. Weekends cost you $300. The deal is good from June 12 to Sept. 28. (KCRA)
- The Orange County Fair in Costa Mesa is going all out this year. Fair organizers announced 71 performers who will vie for your attention at the Pacific Amphitheatre, The Hangar, and the Action Sports Arena. Festivities begin on July 14 and go through Aug. 13. Ticket prices range from $13 on weekdays to $15 on weekends. Kids five and under enter free. (KTLA, OC Fair)
