OC City To Rename Street In Honor Of Slain Conservative Activist
Westminster City officials voted to partially rename a street in honor of Charlie Kirk.
WESTMINSTER, CA — An Orange County street will be partially renamed after slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk, after Westminster city officials voted to pass the change despite strong community protest.
Councilmembers voted 4-1 on Wednesday to alter All American Way street signs between Westminster Boulevard and 13th Street with Charlie Kirk Way.
While the change will not totally replace the official street name, Kirk's name will be added in smaller font beneath All American Way.

According to the city, the estimated cost of purchasing and installing the new signs will be around $3,000.
A separate item to designate Oct. 14 as Charlie Kirk Day in Westminster also passed with a 3-2 vote.

Several residents voiced protest against the changes during Wednesday's city council meeting.
Some speakers told city officials that it would be more appropriate for the city to recognize local figures who made important contributions to Westminster.
