Watch: Lion Stalks OC Cyclists, Forces Closure Of Popular Park
Whiting Ranch Wilderness Park will be closed until further notice due to recent cougar activity, officials said.

TRABUCO CANYON, CA — An Orange County wilderness park was closed this week as a result of recent mountain lion activity.
Whiting Ranch Wilderness Park will be closed until further notice due to an uptick of mountain lion activity, OC Parks announced.
OC Parks staff are currently working with California Department of Fish and Wildlife and UC Davis Wildlife Health Center to investigate.

The closure comes after a video shared on social media Monday showed a mountain lion approaching mountain bikers, who captured the interaction on film.
The bikers were on the Dreaded Hill Trail when the big cat approached them, and can be heard shouting, "go away kitty!" while the cougar watches them.

No injuries were reported from the incident.
