• Butte County Man Appears in Court on Homicide and Child Sex Abuse Charges (crimevoice.com) — An Oroville resident is facing murder and child sex abuse charges after authorities discovered a woman’s body hidden inside a wall of his Oroville apartment earlier this year. Prosecutors say the victim disappeared in January, and the suspect has now entered not-guilty pleas, with another court date set for mid-January 2026.
   

• Basketball Recap: Oroville Comes Up Short (maxpreps.com) — Oroville’s boys basketball team fell 62–55 to Woodland Christian on Saturday despite a huge 29-point, five-assist, three-steal night from Kevin Taylor. The Tigers, now 5–3, will try to rebound at home against Durham on Tuesday at 8 p.m., giving local fans a chance to see if Taylor’s hot streak continues.
