Average LA County Gas Price Drops to Lowest Amount Since Feb. 2

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in LA County dropped today for the 28th straight day, decreasing to $4.71.

LOS ANGELES COUNTY -- The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in LA County dropped today for the 28th consecutive day, decreasing 4.1 cents to $4.711, its lowest amount since Feb. 2.

The average price has dropped 61 times in 64 days since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, falling $1.783, including 4.6 cents Wednesday, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 26.1 cents less than one week ago and 81 cents lower than one month ago, but 2.2 cents more than one year ago.

The national average price dropped for the 29th consecutive day, decreasing 2.6 cents to $3.329. It is 14.1 cents less than one week ago, 47.5 cents lower than one month ago and 1.4 cents below one year ago.

The national average price has dropped 47.6 cents over the past 29 days, including 2.5 cents Wednesday. It is $1.687 lower than the record $5.016 set June 14.
