Labor Day DUI Checkpoints/Patrols Planned Across Westside LA

Now through the weekend, the LAPD will conduct DUI checkpoints and saturation patrols to deter intoxicated drovers.

LOS ANGELES, CA — The Los Angeles Police Department is wrapping up the summer season with a blitz of DUI checkpoints and saturation patrols through the Labor Day Weekend.

"As the summer travel season wraps up, the Los Angeles Police Department reminds drivers to stay safe and be responsible by never driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs," the police department said in a written statement. "To help keep our community safe, the LAPD will have additional officers on patrol from August 16 through Labor Day (September 4) looking for drivers suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. The additional efforts to prevent impaired driving are part of a national enforcement campaign, Driver Sober or Get Pulled Over."

In addition to the LAPD, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, the California Highway Ptarol, and multiple other law enforcement agencies will be conducting anti-DUI efforts countywide.
