COACHELLA VALLEY, CA — Indio-based buzzbox Premium Cocktails, producers of what's billed as the first ready-to-drink cocktail in an eco-friendly box, announced a sponsorship agreement Wednesday with Acrisure Arena, the under-construction future home of the Coachella Valley Firebirds hockey team.

"buzzbox was born in the Coachella Valley and our production facility remains here," company founder/CEO Rod Vandenbos said. "As a purpose- built company, we are passionate about being active members of our local community, and getting involved with Acrisure Arena is one way buzzbox can share in the excitement."

Under the sponsorship agreement, the company will be featured in a branded bar in the arena, featuring its 10 cocktails — Perfect Margarita, Classic Greyhound, Tequila Paloma, Long Island, Classic Cosmo, Cuban Mojito, Bloody Mary, Whiskey Lemonade, Hurricane, and Vodka Lemonade.

The arena on the outskirts of Palm Desert is slated to open in December for hockey, musical events and performances. It will be home to the Coachella Valley Firebirds, an American Hockey League affiliate of the NHL's Seattle Kraken.
