Man, 28, Accused Of Fatally Stabbing Another Man In Indio

A 28-year-old man accused of stabbing another man to death in Indio remained behind bars without bail Sunday.

INDIO, CA — A 28-year-old man accused of stabbing another man to death in Indio remained behind bars without bail Sunday.

The attack allegedly stemmed from a fight between two men at about 12:55 a.m. Saturday near Jefferson Street and Highway 111, according to the Indio Police Department.

When officers arrived at the location, they found a man who had been stabbed lying on the ground in front of a nearby Circle K store.

The victim was taken to a hospital but later died of his injuries, police said.

Detectives identified the suspect as Vicente Munoz, 28, of Indio and arrested him at about 11 a.m. in La Quinta.

Munoz was booked into the Indio Jail on suspicion of murder and violating his parole.
