Man Killed In Apparent Indio Homicide

INDIO, CA — A male died from injuries suffered in an attack in unincorporated Indio, authorities said Saturday.

The attack was reported at midnight Friday in the 47600 block of Van Buren Street, according to Riverside County sheriff's Sgt. Richard Carroll.

Deputies found the male victim suffering from life-threatening injuries and rendered medical aid until paramedics arrived, Carroll said.

The victim was taken to a hospital, where he died, the sergeant said. His name has not been released pending notification of relatives.

No additional details were available due to the ongoing investigation, Carroll said.
