Palm Desert Announces Continuation of Free Spring Concerts

The Palm Desert Spring Concert Series continues May 12 with reggae from Upstream and food trucks.

PALM DESERT, CA (May 6, 2016) – Enjoy exciting performances under the stars while savoring treats from a selection of food trucks at the Civic Center Park Amphitheater from 7:30 to 9 p.m. every Thursday in May, continuing May 12 with Caribbean sounds from Upstream.

The five-member band has played their exhilarating mix of Reggae, Calypso, Soca and Steel Drum Music for audiences around the world.

New this year, the concerts will feature food trucks for the first time. Scheduled trucks include We Heart Froyo, the Eat’ Em Up Truck, and Bacon Nation. Family YMCA of the Desert will once again be leading children’s games and activities before each of the four shows. Concertgoers are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs. Alcoholic beverages and smoking are prohibited.

This year’s Spring Concerts, offered by the City and sponsored by the Desert Recreation District offer a variety of talented acts designed to please music lovers of all ages and tastes including Americana and bluegrass sounds from The Dustbowl Revival on May 19, and Motown and R & B from The Blue Breeze Band on May 26.
