Palm Desert Patch Names Interim Editor
Palm Desert Patch Editor Jessica E. Davis is being transferred to Malibu Patch after serving nearly four years as a journalist in the Coachella Valley.

Nearly four years after writing my first article in the Coachella Valley, I am being called to the coast. I have been appointed editor of Malibu Patch, and my last day is Friday, March 23.
I have greatly enjoyed my time here in Palm Desert, and I have been extremely blessed over the past four years. As many of you know, my husband, Peter Smelser, was laid off in the merger between KPSP Local 2 and KESQ-TV Channel 3. We are excited that this move will open more doors for job opportunities.
I am leaving the site in good hands. While we are looking for my full-time replacement, Eddie Trent will be filling in. Trent has worked on Palm Desert Patch for the past year. Before that he served as program director for WildRadio760.com in Palm Springs.

He also worked as a morning producer at WGBA Television in Green Bay, Wisc. Before that, he spent several years at KMIR-TV as a morning show producer and at KESQ/KDFX as a sports reporter. He can be reached at trent340@yahoo.com.
Being editor of Palm Desert Patch has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life. I have enjoyed seeing the website quickly become the best source of information about Palm Desert due to the work of our staff and because of the support from the community.
